I know Ken discontinued this one because people found it difficult to build.

This is just a tip for those who have the board & have not yet built it or never felt it worked right for them.

Snap a CGS81 DVP board in half and wire a voltage processor to the input, Wire the input pot for the DVP to the panel with a trimmer in place of the DVP offset/ output pot & blammo! this thing Very Very good !

It sounds like you use the CGS81 to scale the input to the ASR. What
problem does that solve? I don't see why you would do that, since the
ASR has a trim pot for scaling its input already. I have two ASRs, and
the main issue I have with them is that the transfer from input to
output is not precise to unity gain on all the outputs. But that has to
do with the 10K and 20K resistors that level shift the signal through
the CMOS 4052. Ken's notes say they should be matched. The scaling
trimmer affects the input, so all the outputs are impacted by it.

My 5k trimmer wasnt doing anything, The ASR was just kicking out some high
negative voltage & wasnt of much use with my VCOs/ would just make them
wine. Processor on the ASR input makes it usable. I matched the resisters &
used the ICs noted to work on the page.
