Hi all, I recently bought a Bit One on a local advertising site. It has a very odd problem: every second key I press doesn't create a sound. For example: ABCDEFG gives ACEG, but if I take the SAME octave and I start with B, then BCDEFG gives BDF. Does anyone have a clue to what is happening here? :) Best regards, Artur

But you must be with a name like that. --- ppietersma <ppietersma@...> wrote: --------------------------------- Hi all, I recently bought a Bit One on a local advertising site. Hi Artur, I had a slightly similar problem. Every third key I pressed was either not heard or louder than the rest. What I did, was to select a sound with long decay and hold the 3rd key. Knowing that a sound should be generated, I used the very unprofessional way of bending of and tapping on printing boards. It turned out that the filterboard was in need of some serious soldering. After having resoldered nearly every contact the problem was gone. Maybe it's just one of the CEM3328's. You could try to swap the one of the 2nd voice with one of another voice and see it the second voice remains the problem groeten uit Nederland, Niels --- In crumar@yahoogroups.com, "ppietersma" <ppietersma@y...> wrote:

Hi Tom, Yes... I am dutch, but still I like to do my msg's in english, so it's readable for everyone. Sorry for my late response, but for some reason I don't get my msg's in my mailbox (despite the preferences I set). Anyway... I bought the Bit from a guy who really wasn't aware of these defects; in my opinion he did everything he could to help me solve the problems with the Bit. On your advice regarding buying stuff on ebay Germany I have to agree: there's a lot to be found there. Thanks for your response! Hi Niels, Thanks for your tips and sorry for the late response. Somehow I don't get the messages of this group in my mailbox. Anyway... I already figured that it would be something like a CEM3328 not working and indeed... 2 out of 6 are really gone :( Regarding the soldering tip... I think I'll do just that in one of my spare weekends. After having read your msg I inspected the board and indeed some of the solderings aren't too good. Thanks again... Groeten, ook uit Nederland (Utrecht) ;) Artur --- In crumar@yahoogroups.com, "monodist" <monodist@n...> wrote: > > Hi Artur, > > I had a slightly similar problem.
