Re: Spectro won't re-read patches properly without reboot...

2006-07-04 by robert@robertwriting.com

I have been having a similar problem since upgrading first to the beta 1.1 version of the software and now to the full-fledged 1.11. My spectro doesn't work. At the "white calibration" prompt, when I try to read the white tile I get a "your spectro does not seem to be working correctly. Please check your connections ..." error message.
No rebooting or removing/reloading the program has helped.
I have been in touch with Colorvision tech support for two weeks over the problem. They kindly sent me a new spectro, but that did not change anything. My subsequent requests for help have so far gone unanswered, and I need to resolve this problem because I am desperately trying to complete a profile so I can finish printing photos for an upcoming exhibit.
My USB ports seem to be working fine (my other devices, including a wireless keyboard/mouse and a Gretagmacbeth Eye-One both work fine through them). And, as I said, PrintFix Pro was working flawlessly until I upgraded.
Has anyone had a similar experience? I'm desperate to resolve this within the next day or two.
