I'm totally bummed!!!! So, I installed all software, printed out targets; get to the measuring
stage and plug in the spectrometer and nothing. I've tried several computers with no luck. No
lights on the spectro light with or w/out the button pushed down. I'm assuming that I
received bunk equipment. Thought i'd ask on here in case anyone had insights as to what the
problem could be. This happen to anyone before???
A dead spectro would be one possibility; but you don't tell us what platform, what software version, what port, or anything else that might help determine if its a failure to install the drivers correctly, or an unpowered port, or some other possibility instead. Have you tried with the spectro plugged in BEFORE launching the software? If you don't plug it in until after, you would have to connect with it by switching device to "none" and then back to "spectro" in the preferences, or else relaunch the software after the spectro is plugged in. Have you tried a different USB camera cable, to determine if it might be a bad cable? Did you install the software on the several computers you tried? Without the driver installed successfully, the spectro plugged into a fully powered port, and the software started after the spectro is plugged in, you won't get a response with any unit, so its not easy to say its dead without a bit more detail.
