It did not for me in my scenario.

I just did a Dell ultrasharp and just reset it to factory specs and it did great.  My Viewsonic on the other hand I believe I started it at a 50% reduction in the OSD.

I was originally using the Microsoft Color Control applet, but realized that it was not necessary since the datacolor Spyder 3 software discovers the second monitor.  Once you go under settings and extend your monitor to the second, Datacolor will create a profile for each.

Having said this, this is in XP and if you have Vista, well I dont know!
