It's because you're printing the same patch content, two different ways.

If you print the image from inside Spyder3Print, you don't get the black
box around the white patch; this doesn't make any difference, the white
patch is still the white patch, it's simply paper white.

If you load and print the .tif version of the image, using Photoshop,
then you get the contents of the .tif file, and we simply happened
to put a black rectangle around the white patch area in that version
of the image to make it stand out a little better.

Spyder3Print doesn't load and print from the .tif files; it generates
the image internally, on the fly, using vectors, if you print from
inside the software. The .tif versions are designed to match the
design of the internally generated image; the color content of the
patches is the same; but other small details inside the image itself
may not be.
