Re: Help with getting brightness to target level

2013-05-15 by golfwidow@frontiernet.net

I have had this monitor for 2 1/2 years. When I was using it on my old system with spyder2express I had amazing results and almost 100% accuracy with prints versus monitor.

According to the specs on my monitor it is able to be at 300 candelas. Just not sure how to go about it. LG support is not very helpful. I never had to worry about this while using the express versus the pro where I have to make adjustments instead of the software doing it.

I am wondering if I need to make adjustments to brightness using my catalyst control center?

Right now after calibrating it is at 129 candelas. I guess I can shut off some of the window light by closing the blinds and not mess with it any more. It is just frustratiing. Thanks.

If the display won't do that, then the issue is with the display. If her display won't get brighter than 110 (which is an ideal level for color managed work in a dim environment, by the way, but won't be satisfying to many users, especially if they are obliged to work in brighter environments), then she should contact LG about how to get it brighter, or how to get it replaced. Even if she is willing to work at 110 candelas, she would probably like more headroom, to be assured the display will be usable over time...
