Spyder3Elite systray icon problem

2013-05-18 by tlbepson

I've submitted a ticket to Datacolor support but as it's the weekend, I figure I might not get a response before Monday so I thought I'd post to the list with my query in hopes someone might have a suggestion...

Running Win7Pro/64bit, Spyder3Elite 4.0.2...

The Spyder3 Utility systray icon color changed from black to red to indicate that I should recalibrate and periodically a pop-up window appeared telling me I need to recalibrate. I recalibrated yesterday (May 17th), entering the profile name of "tlbmonitor130517", rebooted my system, profile is loaded--"tlbmonitor130517" displayed in the pop-up--but the Spyder3Utility icon still goes to red and I'm still getting the pop-up window telling me I should recalibrate--my new monitor profile has been loaded and Windows Color Management (Control Panel > Color Management) shows "tlbmonitor130517.icm" as the default profile.

Doing a bit more looking, I discovered that in c:\Users\[myuserid]\appdata\local\datacolor\spyder3elite\displayinformation\tlbpc_asus pa248-1_information.xml, the "LastCalibrated", "LastCheckCAL" and "LastFullCAL" dates have NOT been updated. Via copy/paste from the xml file, here are the current values:

<LastCalibrated>2012-10-30 18:53:03</LastCalibrated><LastCheckCAL>2012-10-30 18:53:03</LastCheckCAL><LastFullCAL>2012-10-30 18:53:03</LastFullCAL>

I'm not sure why these dates not been updated. I did not close the Spyder3Elite software abruptly--clicked through until the "quit" button displayed and clicked on "quit" but maybe I did something incorrectly so those dates did not get updated?

What (terribe, awful thing...'-}}) would happen if I manually edited the xml file (using Windows Notepad) entering the correct dates and saving the xml file?

Thanks!

Terrie
