Given that a user knows what he's doing, there isn't a "huge number of
variables....". It simply is the limitation of LAB color space which makes
blue look purple. But many CMMs have already addressed and fixed the
problem with their own ways of interpolating the data.
The problem lies in the CMM's algorithm.
Thats ONE of the issues here, and one that is out of ColorVision's hands since we don't build the CMMs, only the profiles. As I said earlier, a "hack" for that at the profile level, isn't always going to do the right thing for all users...
