use of ink limiting on luster papers?

Hello, I am needing to reprofile ilford pearl because of a print head change. I will also be making a profile for a new lexjet 300gm luster product I am trying out. The last profile I made for ilford pearl I had some problems with the blacks blocking up a little so I lowered the contrast of the profile in print fix and got it acceptable. I was wondering what ink limiting does and whether I should mess with it or not. When I print my color test charts to decide on the best paper selection the darks are always kind of blocky. I tried dropping the ink limiting 10 and 20% and noticed a drop in overall density but not much better gradients in the blacks. Might have helped a little. Proofing paper semimatte setting seems the best. Testing those paper charts seems to be the biggest hassle of this whole process. Anybody use this slider much? Thanks Randy Laskody
