Modifying a Profile with PrintFIX PLUS 1.0

No, you always have to build a new profile; you apply different "flavoring"
to the profile by modifying the adjustment sliders in the PLUS application
when you build it. (But since this only takes a few seconds, this does what
you're trying to do, just in a different way).

There's a newer version of PLUS, 1.1.1, available for download on the
ColorVision web site.

from scratch?

No, PrintFIX PLUS cannot be used to modify existing ICC profiles. It can only be used to "modify" PLUS measurements sets supplied with the program.

Thankyou both Davids !

It's a pity the program doesn't allow this. I'll just have to
remember to note the settings I made each time I make a profile in
future, so I don't have to start from scratch again each time.

I think there's something here that my still not be clear:

You do NOT have to remeasure any patches to rebuild a profile.

All you need to do is run PFP again; go to the Read Patches screen;
select your (already measured) set of measurements; step forward to the
Build Profile screen; adjust your sliders a different way; and click Next
to build a different variation of the profile.

This only takes a few seconds, there is little or no mental pain or
anguish involved...:-)

There would be no additional benefit to you if PFP was able to directly
modify a profile, other than the few seconds it takes you to launch PFP,
click through those screens, adjust a slider and build a differently-flavored
profile.

Consider building a shorthand for the settings into the profile name, so that you'll know what settings it involved. +5Con-5Sat would add five points of contrast and remove five points of staturation, for example.

The subject line says PLUS, the answer implies PRO... You don't ever read any patches with PLUS, they are premeasured for you.
