Replacement suction cups available anywhere?

Replacement suction cups available anywhere?

2007-07-16 by Ramón G Castañeda

ColorVision has not replied to my email of more than week ago, and a
search of the messages in this group yielded no pertinent hits, so
here's my question:

Has anybody here needed to replace one or more of the suction cups
that hold the Spider Pro against the surface of a flat CRT? If so,
where did you find them?

Two of the suction cups on my Spyder Pro no longer stay in place more
than a few seconds.

 Thanks in advance.

Cleaning of the cups with isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) may be all
that is required.
Sometimes they become glazed with dirt and will not properly adhere to the
glass of the CRT.

Ramon

i also find that one of the suction cups on my Spyder tends to come
loose during the profiling all the time. my solution is to just gently
hold the Spyder against the monitor during the profiling process.

the same.

Well, obviously that's what I've been doing myself. :-D That can
get old in no time, though. :-)

when i profile i just run it through the easiest routine to get it done
faster... i also seem to get better results!

You had the right approach in contacting colorvision support. Try again, using the Support Ticket system on the ColorVision.com website. This should not take a week, generally less than 24 hours. Be sure to use an appropriate subject line, to avoid getting cleaned out with the Spam... certainly anything with Spyder in the title will clearly be a real support email.

My solution is to apply a bit of saliva to the cups before using them... leaves a ring, but I need to clean my monitor every couple of weeks anyways, and that makes sure I do it. More sanitary sources of H2O work as well...

Moisten the cup before you press it on.
