Help with profile chooser! It chooses wrong display as default!

Help with profile chooser! It chooses wrong display as default!

2008-03-05 by molitar2025

I got an ATI 3870 Video card with component out going to Television
and the DVI going to my new 22" Samsung 2253BW LCD monitor. But the
stupid chooser keeps using the profile on the TV screwing them colors
up bad and not fixing the colors on the monitor. How do I make this
stupid profile chooser use the correct display?

This may not be a videocard capable of calibrating two devices, but it would be nice if it could at least calibrate one. Start by downloading the latest driver for this videocard and installing it.

I'm in contact with Colorvision now on the issue. It keeps selecting
the wrong display is the problem. It doesn't effect the monitor but
only the Television for some reason thinking it's the default. Well
anyways I gave up on using profile for now and just did a color
calibration adjusting the colors themselves on the monitor. It does
improve it alot maybe not as quite as much as with a profile but it is
useable now.

Spyderguide

2008-03-09 by Tom Moore

I notice the latest version of Spyder3Print includes an accessory called the
SpyderGuide. Does anyone know anything about it? Is it helpful?

I currently use a ruler to guide movement of the Spectro when I'm reading a
chart. Does the Spyderguide improve on that?

Is the SpyderGuide available as a separate item? I don't see it on the
Colorvision web site. If so, how much?

Lot's of questions. Any answers?

Its helpful in theory. In practice it falls short of what it could offer.

I currently use a ruler to guide movement of the Spectro when I'm reading a
chart. Does the Spyderguide improve on that?

It will serve that purpose, plus you don't need to keep pressure against the ruler, since its captured both top and bottom, allowing only patch-to-patch movement.

Is the SpyderGuide available as a separate item? I don't see it on the
Colorvision web site. If so, how much?

We have an updated version of the SpyderGuide in the works that will offer improved functionality. It should roll down the page more evenly and smoothly, so that you don't have to start over aligning it on each row. Once that is in production, we will certainly make it available to anyone who wants it, though I don't know exactly how the program for that will work. If its made available for a nominal fee on our website, that would work for North American users, but not for other locations, so I suspect there will be a European solution, and ones from the various national distributors in Asia/Pacific.
