ColorVision Profile Chooser question

ColorVision Profile Chooser question

2009-02-03 by Nathan Gutman

ColorVision supplies and install a utility called "Profile Chooser". It seems that his utility recognizes only profiles generated by the Spyder software. If I try to switch to a different profile it gives me "unexpected length... select another profile" message.
Is there a workaround?
Thanks

Our Utility is indeed designed for working with our profiles. We did
attempt to make it reasonably robust, and it will work with many
profiles from other sources, but there are various undocumented things
in other profiles that we did not reverse engineer and deal with, so
some profiles are cannot be used with it. Your workaround, under XP,
is to download the Microsoft color management utility, and use that
for assigning profiles, from whatever origin. Microsoft assumed they
would be replacing all the functionality of this in Vista with builtin
features, which is not exactly the case; but the XP utility won't work
under Vista, so you are on your own with Vista... in this as well as
other ways.
