I have Spyder2 Pro (2.2.-5) installed and Spyder3Print - can I upgrade to Spyder3 to get Universal Binary or will I have an issue with either the licence or the sensor? I can leave a Snow Leopard partition in place if I can't and then use the profile in Lion, I suppose.

>>I have Spyder2 Pro (2.2.-5) installed and Spyder3Print - can I upgrade to Spyder3 to get Universal Binary or will I have an issue with either the licence or the sensor? There is no way to use a Spyder2 with Spyder3 software. There was a Spyder2 to Spyder3 upgrade offer, years ago, after Spyder3 was released, and assorted other offers since then. There should be another round of upgrade offers before too long. In the meantime, yes, to your comment below, if you keep a copy of any OS that runs Rosetta, you can build profiles and use them with Lion, if you copy them over, then set them as the display profile under Lion. >>I can leave a Snow Leopard partition in place if I can't and then use the profile in Lion, I suppose C. For anyone who has an iPad and may have missed this: A month ago, we released the first version of SpyderGallery, a free app forthe iPad, on Apple's App Store. Version 1.0 was the first (and only!) app to provide a professional, color calibrated image browser and display for images in the iPad's photo library. Last Thursday, we updated SpyderGallery to version 1.1. Faster, stable and able to handle even very large RAW and JPG images files that have been brought into the iPad photo library from sources such as the Apple Camera Connector kit. SpyderGallery has a number of unique features, and it's a FREE download. All you'll need is both an iPad and any Spyder3 sensor to take advantage of color calibration when viewing your photos in it's image browser. Once you've created an iPad calibration with SpyderGallery: - SpyderGallery will display your images in a Calibrated view so that they will appear much closer to how they would display on a calibrated computer display. There's also an on/off switch to flip between calibrated/uncalibrated views. - There's a watermarking feature, so that you can create a custom watermark; with your choice of text, font, size, opacity, and location; and then have your watermark overlaid automatically on images in the SpyderGallery browser. You can also use an image from your photo library as a watermark. Why use SpyderGallery? - It's cool - It's free! - Your Spyder3 sensor will do something that it never could before: measure and calibration an iPad screen - Images look the best, on an iPad, when viewed in SpyderGallery. - The watermarking feature lets you show your work, in a calibrated view, with your watermark added "live" as you're browsing through and displaying the images. We're encouraging everyone with an iPad and a Spyder3 sensor to get SpyderGallery from the App store, install it, and enjoy. And if you do so, please take the time to write a review and leave a rating for it on the App Store. You can find SpyderGallery by searching for it on the App Store on any iPad, and there's also a product page for it on the Datacolor web site. Enjoy! If all I do is monthly profiling on my Mac Pro and two MacBook Pros, then would you agree the Spyder3 Express (vs. Pro and Elite) is accurate enough? The Spyder 3 software is Universal/Intel, right? For Under $100 I don't mind getting a new kit. I am using Spyder3 Print as well. No issues there with Rosetta? --- In datacolor_group@yahoogroups.com, Cdtobie <CDTobie@...> wrote:

>>If all I do is monthly profiling on my Mac Pro and two MacBook Pros, then would you agree the Spyder3 Express (vs. Pro and Elite) is accurate enough? S3Express does exactly the same calibration as Pro or Elite. The difference is in extras like ambient light measurement, projector calibration, etc. >>The Spyder 3 software is Universal/Intel, right? Yes. >>For Under $100 I don't mind getting a new kit. It is a good deal... >>I am using Spyder3 Print as well. No issues there with Rosetta? You can update for free to the latest version of Print, which is universal, and works fine without Rosetta. C.
