Printfix Pro & Profilemaker Pro

Printfix Pro & Profilemaker Pro

2006-02-27 by ShineW7911

Is there anyway to convert the XML data generated by the Printfix Pro
software to text file then import into Profilemaker 5 to work with?
(like comparing the Delta-E value??).

Also, is there a place to download the text file version of the
reference data?

thank you!

That would be up to you to figure out for yourself; assisting in exporting Lab values is part of my job, assisting is using our measurements in competing applications is not. But (having done it many times myself) I can assure you its certainly possible.

(like comparing the Delta-E value??).

Which would tell you how well the two applications do at literal patch matching. In my experience this it quite unrelated to how well the two render images. So keep in mind as you "measure the measurable" that it does not tell us anything about the unmeasurable areas that are most important to us. It always reminds me of the drunk who was searching for his lost house key under the streetlight; not because thats where he lost it, but because thats where it was light enough to search. We measure patch values and calculate delta-e's because thats what we can quantify. But some of PrintFIX PRO's most effective features are based on intentionally adjusting away for mindless math, to better user results.

No, it will ship as part of the next software update. Until that time, its only available to beta testers.
