I have a Grand Disklavier and It works quite
well.
I have noticed that the power supply makes a high
frequency squeal, quite similar to how an old Television set would make an
audible 15 kilohertz noise from the flyback transformer. The sound it
makes varies somewhat depending on load. So if there is more load on the
power supply it changes in real time as power is drawn.
I have never noticed this before.
Can someone tell me:
(1) Could this be normal and power supplies
are squealing and I just never noticed before? I find it quite noticeable
in my piano room with hard floors and many reflections.
(2) If it is abnormal, which I think it is, the
power supply clearly works normally in every way (except for the squeal) so,
what is wrong with it, is this something someone has heard about and perhaps
fixed in some way?
Any other information is appreciated.
Dan
