Pianoteq shows a real-time graphic of the pedal moving, and it certainly looks incremental, but I could be wrong - I'll have to check again. Worth trying free demo version - get full one (pro) to see all features. Very quick download. > > Is there a particular velocity curve that is known to match the velocity curve of the Disklavier? Not that I know of. For Pianoteq, people send in and share velocity files for different controllers, but I haven't seen one for dkv. Pianoteq also has a calibration method for calibrating pedal and expression for your individual . Ivory supports "half-pedaling", not sure what this means. Re velocity, from manual: How do I optimize Ivory’s response for my controller? In order to take full advantage of Ivory’s timbral and dynamic range it is important to optimize Ivory’s response for the MIDI controller you will be using to play Ivory from. This can be done easily from Ivory’s Velocity Page. The first step is to determine the range of MIDI values your controller is capable of sending. Not all controllers will send the full range of MIDI velocity values (0-127). You can quickly determine this by using the ‘Set” button on the Ivory Velocity page. You will be prompted to play your softest and loudest notes, in succession, from your controller. This will give you a range of Min and Max velocity values to use with your controller. You can then use the Min and Max velocity controls to tweak those values from there, but the ‘Set’ button will give you a good idea of what your controller is sending. Once you’ve determined that, you can select an ‘Arc Type’ for the velocity response, and a ‘Hardness’ setting that is tailored to your touch or style of playing. Following this procedure should allow you to produce a velocity response in Ivory that is fined tuned for both your controller and your playing. One final note, the overall sensitivity and dynamic range will also be affected by the ‘Dynamic Range’ control on Ivory’s main screen page. So once you’ve found a response that suits you on the Velocity Page, the overall dynamic range can be further tweaked to your taste with this control for each program."
