Re: [disklavier] Re: Questions on piano & Disklavier control unit DKC-850

You cannot make your piano a silent model. Not only does a rail prevent the piano hammers from hitting the strings, but the double tails on the jacks automatically adjust the let-off so Touch feels the same on your Fingers.

You will need a USB Floppy Disk Drive to load your floppy disks into memory on the DKC-850. You can also convert (backup) those floppies to standard MIDI files using Mark Fontana‘s PPFBU program to convert the ESEQ files to standard MIDI files and put them on a thumb drive.

You hear the voices when you play the piano keys by selecting keyboard out.

I wrote a manual called The Handbook of MIDI Player tools In 2 versions that explains everything I knew at the time at www.midiplayertools.com

If you are interested in controlling your Disklavier with wireless Bluetooth from a mobile IOS ( Apple) device, check out www.midiplayertools.com/Connecting.htm
