If your Disklavier is a MarkIIXG or newer, it has a To Host port on the back of the control box, and you would not need a MIDI interface. I have connected a Mac laptop with a $3 serial cable. To use a PC, you need the $10 CBX cable and the free driver from the Yamaha web site.
