RE: [disklavier] Using a laptop with Disklavier

2002-10-03 by Buddhika

Thanks again Carol,, I have a Toshiba 486 Laptop sitting idle which I
thought putting it in to good use by connecting it using Cakewalk. I
will be getting a Mark II (non XG) model. Any idea how to get that
connected to the laptop using either Serial or Parallel cables? Would I
need a Midi Interface too?

If your Disklavier is a MarkIIXG or newer, it has a To Host port on the
back
of the control box, and you would not need a MIDI interface. I have
connected a Mac laptop with a $3 serial cable. To use a PC, you need
the
$10 CBX cable and the free driver from the Yamaha web site.
