For a Mark II, you definitely need a MIDI interface. You choose an interface for the port you want to use on the computer, i.e. do you want to use a parallel port, a serial port, a USB port, etc. Midiman makes good interfaces, and buy two MIDI cables - one for MIDI In and one for MIDI out. Then you can record as well as playback directly from the computer running Cakewalk.
