Good afternoon, everyone. In a message dated 1/20/03 11:52:26 AM, tfein@... writes: << I have a Gran Touch (purchased almost three years ago) and DCD1. The control unit is the DKC500RW. I string a MIDI cable across the room when I want to use it. About a year ago, M-Audio (then Midiman) announced a wireless MIDI system called the Midair, which uses Bluetooth. It was billed to have a range of 50 feet. Since then, the product has been delayed. Have you heard any news about this product, and do you know whether it would work with the DCD1 and the control unit (in lieu of the MIDI cable)?>> I am not aware of this product. You can find M-Audio on the web at: http://www.m-audio.net/ Assuming that this product--when available--transmits MIDI data in the same way that a MIDI cable does, then there should be no problem using it with a DCD1. In my studio, I solved the long length of cable issue by pulling the baseboard out from the wall about 1 3/4 inches and putting a strip of wood on top. This enables me to lay cables behind the baseboard at any time. I used those round, plastic computer cable ports that you find on computer desks as the point of entry or exit for the wire. As time goes on, I have a tendency to change my studio setup with regard to computer, audio, and MIDI cables. Regardless, the room always look tidy--at least in this respect. Regards, PianoBench
