Congratulations on your purchase of the DGT7A. I am sure that it is going to give you many years of enjoyment.

As for your question regarding using a line conditioner or surge suppresser, I would strongly recommend that you place a UPS Uninterruptable Power Supply) in the line between your piano and the power outlet. I have a Yamaha DC3A, and I would not even dream of plugging it directly into the wall outlet. Here in North Carolina we have lots of thunderstorms. A UPS is about the best protection that I can give my Yamaha.

Thunderstorms? It\u2019s been so long since I\u2019ve seen the sun, I have forgotten what sunshine is! I\u2019m going to start building an ark pretty soon.

Yes, power surges are common here as well, due to all the heavy rain and lightning we get on a regular basis. I have all the stereo, TV, and computer equipment protected in one way or another.

I think I\u2019ll get a separate unit of some type for the piano, though.
