Holly,

Congratulations on your purchase of the DGT7A. I am sure that it is going to
give you many years of enjoyment.

As for your question regarding using a line conditioner or surge suppresser, I
would strongly recommend that you place a UPS Uninterruptable Power Supply) in
the line between your piano and the power outlet. I have a Yamaha DC3A, and I
would not even dream of plugging it directly into the wall outlet. Here in
North Carolina we have lots of thunderstorms. A UPS is about the best
protection that I can give my Yamaha.

Hi Tom and Holly,

Contrary to popular belief, _many_ of the cheaper UPSes do little or anything to
protect from incoming surges. They obviously _do_ backup in case of a power
outage and may delay slightly before switching back to AC power (getting rid of
a possible power surge glitch from the AC power coming back on) when coming back
off the backup battery. They do what they were designed to do.

If this is the case, you need to add some type of voltage suppressor outlet
strip (a good one!) in addtion to the UPS to cover both bases...
