Disklavier

You did not mention which model DKV you own.  When I send a song into 
the MIDI port of my Mark I, the DKV's volume control knob does affect 
the DKV's loudness while it is playing.  You might check to be sure that 
the "Volume" button is engaged when you twist the knob.
