Good afternoon, everyone.

I did find the YamPlayer program contributed by MidiMagic to be an excellent way to build a Play List of the e-Competition files with the downloaded ESEQ files which displayed the song title as well as the performing artist. These could have been incorporated into the enhanced midi files but were not.

Actually, all three file types--XP, Enhanced, and E-SEQ--have an embedded "sequencer-specific meta event" that the Disklavier uses to display the song titles. Since the Disklaver displays 2 lines of 16 characters each, I put the song title (as best I could) in the first 16 characters and the artist's name in the second 16 characters.

In addition, I used a Yamaha in-house program to create directory files for each collection of file types. One of those directory files contains (redundantly) the same song title information.

I have not used YamPlayer, so I don't know how it determines the titles that it displays. But, I can confidently say that the same information is present in every song file. The song titles will show up on the Disklavier regardless as to whether the directory files are present.
