Disklavier

Hello,

New to this but i'm trying to record my piano playing into a laptop 
via midi. I have several programs that are working fine sending the 
data and having the disklavier play them (both the keyboard and tone 
generator).

But the DC1A doesn't seem to be sending any midi data to the laptop 
when i play. Does it only send data from the tone generator and not 
capture/send midi data played on the acutual keyboard?
