Re: [disklavier] Beginner question on writing midi files to floppy and playing them.

2006-12-22 by Carol Beigel

The Disklavier sees MIDI files on floppy disks
formatted with an IBM computer. I don't think Mac's
work. However, I was successful a while back using a
mini DIN cable from a Powerbook to the To Host port on
the Disklavier, playing MIDI files from the hard drive
through software called Metro 5.

If you own a Disklavier, you should also own a cheap PC
that runs native DOS. Windows 98 and lower work just
fine. Try usedlaptops.com
