I have not had such a problem. It looks like a problem in the control box with Midi and XG side of things. Could be a dry contact. When the metal contacts in the circuit board expand with operational heat it may open up a contactsome where or even happen within a IC.
Try your Sydney Tech.

Thanks Budd, Ill give them a call.

Its an HQ100SXG, originally from Japan. I think its the equivalent of a MPX100 XG - at least its compatible with the Mark II XG firmware.

I am pretty sure it is an electronics problem. On silent mode or midi out, C5 works fine on power-up, but stops firing after a minute or so. If I turn it off for an hour or so it works again for a bit. Has anyone else had this kind of problem?

Cheers,
Peter

Hello
I live in Melbourne and the only chap I know who dables with Disklaviers is Barry Nottingham , Try 0407927718. He is a Piano tech but I guessyou can ask him
There is a chap by the name of Ted Ramus and is in Melbourne. I am sure you can ask him and he will put you in touch with a chap in Sydney. ted's no is 0418 541819. Heis ex-Yamaha and even Yamahastill consult him.He once fixed my HS8.
Second option isto contact Joseph Pentacoso at Yamaha Melbourne who I believe is in the repair and service. Just use the white pages to find Yamaha Melbourne no and he would help you.
What type of Piano is it that needs your attention? What is wrong with it? If it is a small menu problem I may be able to refer to my reapir manual as well.
Good luck and all the very best.
Budd
