On a MX1IIXG (your model), when the volume knob is at 7 or below, the soft pedal goes into a "locked" position and power is cut to the solenoid.  It will remain in this "locked" position until the volume is increased to 6 or above.  
The bottom line is that leaving your piano in "soft" mode doesn't hurt it.

I have an MX1 Mark IIXG, one year old.  Because the volume on all of the
music we have - be it PianoDisks or downloaded - is so loud, we turn it
down to its lowest setting which places the soft pedal in its lowest
position.   We play the piano in this mode for 2-3 hours/day continuously
on average.  Can this cause any damage to the piano?  I would appreciate
some input from all of you knowledgeable folks !
