In the manual (version 1.1) initial page Yamaha addres to http://www.global.yamaha.com/download/disklavier_markiv/ (it's an orphan page of the site you may not access from menu or search) where to download 1.1 GNU Gpl parts (?!?) of the source code. I've downloaded and red it but it seems to contain the software used to develop the system (Linux RedHat for sure) and to miss all proprietary routines. Questions are: - has anybody looked in these files? Is correct there are no proprietary (low level) routines? - In 2.0 manual (if any) or files inside 2.0 CD you (lucky ones!)get in USA are there any URL for 2.0 source code? Does anybody looked inside them? And more: In the very same page of 1.1 manual (page "i") Yamaha wrote: "NOTE ON THE ONLINE DOCUMENT - Additional licence information is included in the HDD in the Disklavier system. Connect the LAN port on the I/O Center to your network router, and then open the respective documents in the [Document] folder in the Disklavier's HDD" - Has anybody successfully connected a MarkIV to an home network? All previous posts report not! I'm not sure about code developed under Red Hat, maybe it's allowed to keep secret part of code that fits inside the system but intended for property devices (like Disklavier). Altought the manual note says "you may request form Yamaha the source code for any portions of the product WHICH are licensed under GNU Gpl.....". Regards Roberto
