Joan, I still think that what your husband was trying to do is, in fact, possible...but you don't use the "voice" button to do it. From memory (which might be fuzzy since I haven't done this in a while, and I'm not home to test this...) I think you go to the "Ensemble", chose the MIDI channel (probably 0) that the piano is on, and select a new voice for it. I'm not certain that I've ever done that for a piano solo, but I've certainly done it to some jazz tracks to replace the type of bass guitar was being used during playback. -Kevin ----- Original Message ---- From: Joan Heitzeberg (Conahan) <jheitzeb1@...> To: disklavier@yahoogroups.com Sent: Sunday, August 17, 2008 8:18:40 PM Subject: [disklavier] Mark IV Voice Problem I have taken time to review all the past documentations, that came with the Mark IV and each of the updates. I believe that my husband was thinking that he could change the voice of a particular song (one that was already recorded) to be something other than the piano. He was trying to change the voice of a piano only type midi file. I was thinking that the voice is applicable to ensemble tracks and also related to playing the piano or recording using the voice option. There may very well be no problem that exists with Version 3.0 concerning this voice option, it may merely be our lack of understanding on how the voice option is used. Thanks for all the feedback on this matter. Joan
