Unfortunately, unlike the Pianomation, PianoDisc and LX formats, the Disklavier's "analog MIDI" stream does not survive MP3 encoding, at least not with any MP3 encoders and settings that I've tried. It also does not survive Dolby Digital (AC3) encoding. FLAC (losslessly compressed PCM audio) ought to work as a compressed storage format for encoded Disklavier music, in theory, but I doubt that FLAC is supported by the Mark IV. It would have saved some space on the hard drive if Yamaha had used it when storing ripped CDs. Mark Fontana
