Dave: You are getting loopback. The quickest way to stop it is to disconnect the MIDI-in cable at the DKV, while you are recording to the sequencer, and use only the MIDI-out connection at the DKV. Your sequencer has an option somewhere to turn off its loopback. The sequencer's default, when you launch it, is probably "Loopback On".
