The poor compression is due to the accompaniment track... in general,
PCM audio just doesn't compress well with ZIP (LZ algorithm), which is
why codecs like MP3, FLAC, AAC etc. were developed.

But Disklavier CD tracks *without* accompaniment compress fairly well
with ZIP due to repeating patterns in how the MIDI stream is encoded.

P.S. The LX was able to play this material because it supports
Disklavier, PianoDisc, Pianocorder and QRS formats in addition to its
own.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
