The poor compression is due to the accompaniment track... in general, PCM audio just doesn't compress well with ZIP (LZ algorithm), which is why codecs like MP3, FLAC, AAC etc. were developed. But Disklavier CD tracks *without* accompaniment compress fairly well with ZIP due to repeating patterns in how the MIDI stream is encoded. Mark Fontana P.S.
