Hi Bill, Sorry for the delay, I must have missed this email.
In answer to your questions

N0 1: DKV 4D0931

My piano was purchased from Chris Marshall's piano World in Sydney Australia
I flew from Hobart To Sydney to look over the offer as I had first spotted
it in his store on the Internet because we have no one local that I know of.

I looked over the piano and paid $15,000 dollars to him. He told me my piano
was an E3 disklavier. My main reason for wanting the piano was to record and
to be honest I had something a little less expensive in mind.
He talked me into the e3 and up until now I have had no trouble at all and
have been impressed.

However, When I subscribed to the radio service and I struck this problem I
sent off an email to the D-Radio support people and they must have forwarded
the problem to Yamaha Australia.

I then received the following:

Hey Wayne,
I have been informed from my colleague who I believe you have spoken to that
this unit was purchased from an unauthorized Yamaha dealer,
Please contact the store of purchase for support.

I was horrified because up until contact with Yamaha Australia I had no idea
I had done anything wrong. I could not tell from his shop that it was
unauthorized. Chris Marshall told me the piano was cheap because a wealthy
customer had paid him $30,000 for the piano and after a few months his
daughter did not show interest so the piano was returned to the shop. This
was the reason given to me . He said the price was $15,000 because he had
other piano's coming in and because it was now considered second hand
therefore his price was exactly half of a new instrument.

I am extremely upset as you could imagine.

In answer to question 3: The disklavier radio complimentary access was
always in English. When I press the Internet button a menu appears with four
options.
Option no1:D-Radio
Option no2: My Account
Option no3: is in Japanese.
Option no 4: Update
When I press D-Radio everything is Japanese.

If I press My Account option everything is Japanese except the word ID and
submit.

If I press update everything is Japanese except for 3.20. Which I assume is
the DKV software version number.

All other menus and options on the box are in English.

It all starts as explained above.

I sat down to think about all this today and I thought if my piano was
unauthorized how could I subscribe to D Radio. Why didn't something come up
to say not authorized cannot accept Australian email address with DKC850. I
cant understand it or make any sense to it all. I bought this piano in good
faith from what I believed to be a proper Yamaha dealer as his store posters
and cards on his piano's stated. He even had the Yamaha authorized dealer
stickers on his office window!

I have since taken the matter up with consumer affairs but it wont help me
because he has disappeared to another country. No one knows where he is.

I am stuck with this piano. It is not possible to purchase another one.
I just have to hope that I can at least get the piano to play my
subscription service and be content with that.
Regards
Wayne
