If the control panel is built into the lid of the piano, it won't have the XG sounds (the background orchestration) unless the previous owner spent some extra money on the DSR1 upgrade. It won't have the To Host port either. If it is an MX100, it will only use the old 2DD diskettes and only play ESEQ files. If it is a later version, an MX100 mark II, it will at least play MIDI format 0 files, but still only use those 2DD disks. You could also purchase the DSR1 that would add all these features to an old style - MIDI tone generator with XG sounds, MIDI ports, a To Host Port, and the capability to use HDD disks and play and record MIDI format 0 and format 1 files. I think you can buty it with extra memory too.
