Seems the dkc 850 will not get internet radio on my Mark ii. So does anyone have and old dkc500rxg (Mark iixg) controller that has be upgraded that I might be able to purchase or borrow for a week.

Hi, do you have a markII or a markIIxg ? The latter allows I believe, the internet radio option of the DKC850 (I have it installed on my mpx1 wich is initially with DKC500R and MarkIIXG silent . For which purpose do you wish to have an xg controller for a week ?

I have a Mark II and I would love to connect it directly to a DKC850 without using the midi cables, which is what I believe you have been able to do with the 9 to 15 pin adaptor. Can you please tell me what I need to do to make my Mark II be like a Mark IIXG that can be controlled directly by the DKC850 by using the 9 to 15 pin adaptor instead of the midi cables which would limit its usefullness, and it would require that the DKC100 controller for the Mark II still be used via midi? I appreciate as much detail as you can give since I had never heard of this option before. Thanks. Dan

I apologize if this message is inappropriate or incorrect as I am brand new to this group and am also new to Yahoo Groups in general.
I will shortly have a DKC500RXG controller available as I just ordered the DKC850.

Hi Joe, I am not sure I can explain why you would want to keep your DKC500RXG control unit. Your Disklavier can be calibrated using the DKC-850. So your old control unit is not needed for this purpose. I have a couple of reasons I would keep the original control unit: - If I ever sold my MarkIIXG Disklavier, I would want to have my "original equipment' to supply with the piano. - If I had a failure with my DKC-850 and I was having a Disklavier party at my home that night, I could easily re-connect the original control unit and have a great party. - I am a technology hoarder. It is difficult for me to get rid of "stuff" such as this. I hope this information helps! Bill Sent from my iPad

I also believe only the original controller can update the firmware of the on board keyboard controller. I updated all of mine before installing the DKC850 and further keyboard firmware is very unlikely for older models. SJ
