Hi John,
HS stands for Hammer Sensor. Your piano has a hammer sensor rail.
Check to see if your piano can record and then play it back.
If it won't record, it most likely is the cable that connects the hammer sensor rail. It is either loose or disconnected.
Have your technician remove the fallboard of the piano and check the two cables attached to the treble end of the action stack. If you feel comfortable removing the fallboard you can check the cables yourself. One cable will be marked HS the other will be marked KS (Key Sensor).
Even if the HS cable appears connected. Disconnect it and then re-connect it.
BTW, do all of this with the piano powered off and unplugged from the wall.
