DKC850 issue

My unit has work flawlessly but now on occasion it will go into standby (from being on) and then turn back on. Any help? Thanks. SJ

This still does this on occasion. Will be playing and then go in and out of standby which makes the music playing stop. Anyone else ever seen this? Seems to take some time playing before doing this. Wonder if something is heating up after awhile. It’s so random and doesn’t happen all the time, that I’m not sure I want to get a tech yet. I’m using the DKC850 on a DC3A. Thanks. SJ

My 850 was doing the same thing and after some research and talking with the good folks at Yamaha's Disklavier Tech Support, it turned out to be a bad main power switch. The key clue was that it was going into standby often during loud/aggressive song playing that vibrated the power switch just enough to let it slide into the standby mode. New switch fixed the issue and fortunately Yamaha documents almost everything with these pianos so they can also send you the PDF that shows how to swap out the switch.

Thank you so much for this information! I will contact them. Assume by power switch you are referring to the switch on the DKC850. I can even jiggle it and it does the same thing, so this makes sense! SJ
