[disklavier] Gary Lloyd "Pop" Files
2000-01-09 by Mike McGregor
Fellow Disklavier eGroup members, Welcome to Doug McKenzie. ( I know people must ask you about Bob. But perhaps SCTV never made it Down Under.) I look forward to hearing Doug's files. On another topic: I have sorted thru a collection of the so-called non-classical solo piano MIDIs performed by Gary Lloyd. (I'll call them pop although they are a mixture of many genres). They were uploaded here some time ago as MIDIs, I forget where. I volume-limited them to 100, culled out a few of the least interesting ones, and converted them to ESEQ sets. I have uploaded them as GLloydV1.zip and GLloydV2.zip in the "Popular" folder in the vault. If people have problems playing these files, let me know. There was a file called "openfolderlistDF" that showed up in the set as I was copying it but I didn't include it in at least one of the zip files. If all goes well, you should be able to copy all the files in each set to a separate DD or HD diskette and it will fire right up in the Disklavier. (Don't you just love Autostart?) Note that I did not include Gary's Gerswhin preludes nor his Rhapsody in Blue in these sets. The Charlie Brown theme in vol. 1 was quite a bit louder than the rest, but I concluded that was Gary's intention. I arranged the selections in alphabetical order of song title. The second set turned out to be a little more pensive than the first. my programming resulted in the Charlie Brown material being scattered around. That suits me; hope it works for you, too. For info on Gary, see http://midiworld.com/cmc/glloyd1.htm Enjoy. Mike McGregor
