[disklavier] Non-Disklavier members
2000-01-10 by Todd Muncy
There's no reason to lurk. I have openly
recruited owners of PianoDisc and other keyboard products that play and produce
files (midi) that are compatible with Disklavier. After all, I own a DGT2,
which many acoustic disklavier owners probably don't consider a real
piano. The real common interest of the group is slowly evolving, but
remains centered on non-classical piano music and, to a lesser extent, the
associated equipment. Various e-mails I've seen on this board and received
privately, have me intrigued with how PianoDisc measures up against
Disklavier. Those that have them seem to love them. I also see no
reason for PianoDisc owners not to add their info to the database, or perhaps we
should set up a second database.

Maybe I can come out of lurk mode just long enough to ask how many other list members don't actually own a disklavier but have a Clavinova or something else.
When I see the purchase price comparisons posted for various dsiklaviers, I am almost ashamed to admit just how little I paid for my used 1991 CVP65.
;-)
Yet I can still enjoy playing back most of the files posted to the vault.
