[disklavier] whats the easiest and best software to use for editing

1999-12-01 by Barry Dubner

Hello
I'm new to the group-- I recently purchased a grand piano disklavier.
My question is : which software do you recommend for editing files? I
find
it very cumbersome to edit on the disklavier's computer because most of
the
stuff I get on the internet is in SMF (std midi format) S1 whereas the
disklavier needs me to change the files to S0 to edit (which is time
consuming to do once again on the disklavier). I've played around with a
demo version of Cakewalk Pro Audio 9.0 and it seems ok (but I still
havent
mastered half the functions I will need to do with this--I'm still
learning
how to use it). I'd like to know what the group thinks is the easiest
to use
in a case such as mine. My needs are reassigning instruments, setting
individual instrument volumes , and retitling files--I cant think of
much
else I'd need besides these relatively simple functions.
Thanks sooo much in advance--this group has been incredibly helpful
for
me.
Have a great holiday season.
Barry
