Flash ROM Update

2003-02-09 by davis328 <scdavis@comcast.net>

The Yamaha support site has CTRL V4.45 and DSP V1.24 available.

Does anyone know what has been updated from CTRL V4.44 and DSP V1.23?

Flash ROM Update

2003-12-04 by rrl_edm

Hi.

I have a Disklavier MX1Z upright and I'm wondering if anyone knows
whether there are any flash ROM updates to the DKC500RWXR control
unit that I should install? My current flash ROM version is v3.06.
My MX1Z does not have the SmartKey feature, DCD-1 or anything other
than the original control unit.

I tried using the URL provided in the links section, but it no
longer works. If someone wants to update the link, the proper URL
is now:
http://www.yamaha.com/yamahavgn/CDA/ContentDetail/Text_WithCatMenu_XC
/0,6380,CNTID%253D12177%2526CTID%253D410015%2526VNM%253DLIVE%
2526AFLG%253DY,00.html

From the Yamaha Disklavier Software update site, it appears that
flash ROM v3.08 is specifically for the SmartKey function, so
presumably it would not benefit me. Any comments?

Out of curiosity, I downloaded the update just to review
the `README.TXT' file. The instructions indicate that the update is
for pianos equipped with the SmartKey function, so I didn't install
the update. In any event, I find the third step provided in the
instructions a bit confusing. It reads:

"The control unit's current flash ROM version is
displayed. Make sure that the displayed version #
is less than 3.08. If it is, continue with the steps
below. If the version displayed is 3.06 or higher,
there is no reason to continue with this update. The
control unit has had this update already installed
or has had a newer update installed."

My problem is this. The instruction says to proceed if your flash
ROM is less than v3.08. Then, the next sentence says that if the
ROM version displayed is 3.06 or higher, there is no reason to
continue with this update? Is this a typo?
