I know how to get into the maint mode of my DC3A. I have seen my tech run the callibration routine several times. Is there any harm in me doing this myself? Besides "you should not do this if you are not a Yamaha tech, etc.".... Thanks.

I don't see any harm in doing this yourself. At the end of the calibration, you should get the message OK! if you get a Pass number or numbers, write them down. The reason you calibrate the Disklavier is to get a better Record mode. All it does it adjust the sensors to the physical condition of the piano action. Thanks. The tech did it because a couple of notes were playing louder and softer than others (when he ran the routine that starts at the 1st key and goes up to 88). After the calibration, the notes were in alignment with the rest. Cool stuff. --- In disklavier@yahoogroups.com, "Carol Beigel" <crbrpt@b...> wrote:

I do it too. And the sustain pedal adjustment and calibration. But go at it with trepidation and exceeding slow. As you know, it's the fools who rush in where angels fear to tread. Now if I only knew how to get at the diagnostic codes of my Lincoln Navigator's computer. Please remember--we don't own these things, but merely look after them for the next generation. sjhart110110 wrote: > I know how to get into the maint mode of my DC3A.
