What!? You're done with the International Piano e-comp files already? Maybe you could be more specific about what thrills you--piano solo, classical, jazz, XG stuff, etc. I'm very pleased with Yamaha's Rising Star offerings. Download only. Great concept (finally)! Check them out at http://www.yamahamusicsoft.com/index.php?action=ProductCatalog&category_id=137 Better hurry though, their prices seem to be inflating. sjhart110110 wrote: > I've tried asking this before, but will try again! I'm open to all kinds of music (jazz, classical, piano standards, etc.). I've downloaded all of the e-comp files. --- In disklavier@yahoogroups.com, Robert Welcyng <rwelcyng@a...> wrote: > What!? Thanks for the recomendations. I'm looking for EVERYONE to respond with that ONE favorite PianoSoft title that they play more than anyother one! Can be PianoSoft "regular", PianoSoft +, CD, etc. Any more people out there who have one favorite? Please respond! --- In disklavier@yahoogroups.com, "Jerry Dutcher" <gldutcher@e...> wrote: > Also be sure to check out the "Live Performance" series recorded/edited by Wayne Stahnke. He's recorded classical artists such as Earl Wild and Phillipe Entremont, jazz artists such as Dick Hyman, and has also "remastered" the complete piano roll recordings of Sergei Rachmaninoff for Disklavier. To sjhart110110. In addition to the many good suggestions so far, here are a few others for you in the jazz, easy listening and/or contemporary vein. Although I very much enjoy the classical repertoire and have many fine classical disks in my DKV collection, I'll defer the classical recommendations to others better qualified in this genre. Because musical tastes vary so much, many DKV owners are understandably apprehensive to give their opinion. I too usually don't recommend music for others but, you asked. 1) A Salute To Bill Evans (Item# 501087 - PianoSoft Listening Series) => Excellent solo piano of many popular Evans' arrangements. Laidback and relaxing. 2) Chick Corea Classics (Item# 501062 - PianoSoft Original Artist Collection) => Corea originals played solo style by the master himself. I'm a Corea fan from a while back, so your mileage may vary. Corea plays with a bit of a latin / spanish influence. 3) Gabriel's Message: Christmas Suite for Solo Piano" PianoSoft NYC Rising Star Series) => I discovered this 'gem' last December and it immediately became a favourite for the Christmas season. The disk is a collection of traditional Christmas songs played in a non-traditional way. It's very refreshing and Matt Herskowitz's playing is impressive. His interpretation of many holiday classics is best characterized as a crossover between middle-of-the-road, jazz and classical styles. Excellent! It's very reasonably priced mostly due to lack of song royalties. Only available in download format at: www.yamahamusicsoft.com. 4) Favorite Latin Selections (Item# 504601 -PianoSoft Plus) => Great collection of latin standards. Mike Garson's playing is outstanding and the trio is hot. 5) Fantasy and Other Songs Recorded by Earth Wind & Fire (Item# 503359 - PianoSoft Plus XG) => Excellent production and profession playing on many very popular EWF songs. Contemporary funk and MOR hits. If you're an EWF fan like I am, you'll enjoy this one. (Your DKV control unit needs XG compatible for this one.) 6) Change the World - An Eric Clapton Collection (Item# 503349 - PianoSoft Plus XG) => Excellent production and professional playing. Easy listening, MOR. Although I'm not a huge Clapton fan, I must say this is a quality disk. (Your DKV control unit needs XG compatible for this one.) Without trying to sound like I'm making a sales patch for Yamaha, I noticed that the PianoSoft disks are currently on sale and have been discounted by 15% at: www.yamahamusicsoft.com In addition to your local Yamaha dealer, I also suggest that you check out: www.discountpianosoftware.com Now back to your regular programming... If this is some kind of vote, then the recordings I play most are not for sale. Terry Smythe piano roll transcriptions are by far my favorites. From over 1300 rolls there are at least 300 I play frequently. From these all I love "1295S El Dorado Polka" for 2 reasons: It was completely unknown to me until I played it in my DKV. It is quite different in style to most others. This is, of course, very personal. Have a nice day. --- In disklavier@yahoogroups.com, "sjhart110110" <sjhart110@h...> wrote: > Thanks for the recomendations. I'm looking for EVERYONE to respond
