Max/MSP

2005-03-24 by Carol Beigel

I read in the recent Winter 2005 Accent magazine,
published by the Yamaha Piano Division, that the
artist, Kathleen Supove, uses Max/MSP to "program what
she calls 'toys' which allow the Disklavier to follow
[her] around on the keys or exponentially multiply the
number of keys "[she] plays..."

I went to their website and got the impression that
this interactive software is using audio files - not
MIDI files to do this.

Does this work on all Disklaviers? Anyone have any
experience with this software?

MaxMSP is a programming environment for both Midi (the Max part) and
Audio (the MSP part) processing. You can find out more about it here:

I haven't seen the winter issue of accent yet, but based on what you
said, it's likely to be midi based "toys". If so, these could work on
any midi based instrument including the disklaviers.
