Piano Duet with Disklavier Video Sync

Piano Duet with Disklavier Video Sync

2008-09-25 by Mario Ajero

I thought some fellow Disklavier users might be interested in seeing a video of me
performing a duet utilizing the video synchronization feature on a Yamaha Disklavier Mark IV
Pro Grand Piano:

Great to see this function in action, and with much aplomb!
Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the compliments, Mark.

I admit that this was the first time I was doing this in a public concert, so I was worried there
would be some glitch in the video synchronization.

However, at the risk of sounding too much like a Yamaha spokesperson, it simply just
worked like magic.

Ok, only took me two months, but I finally saw this video. Extremely entertaining, and nice humor! And very interesting that the video sync feature could be used to enable the live player to look at the video player for body language cues to help keep the duet together. How funny it would be if you had the video player look at the live player for the cues, while the live player just stared down at the piano. Though that would be hard, I guess. :)
