Doug, I would think that a beta tester wouldn't really need elaborate screen printing on a panel to just test a module. You could always drill the holes in a panel to accommodate the knobs, jacks, and switches, place them in the holes in the proper orientation, and let the tester realize where '1' and '10' are on the knobs, etc. (As long as the switches weren't upside down!) After all, beta testing could very well find some things that needed to be changed regarding the positioning and labeling of the panels, in which case you would be stuck with panels that served no purpose. In 'alpha testing', sure, the labeling would probably be nailed down by then, but in 'beta testing', I wouldn't see what would be wrong with just drilling the holes and having the labeling 'understood'. It could prevent problems later on with some modules, although I don't know how there would be any such issues with the Polymoog Filter. On the yellow text, if it serves your purpose and helps the user better determine the functionality of the module, any aesthetic consideration to the contrary should be negligible. I wouldn't mind some yellow text on a module in my rig if it meant an easier understanding of a module's functionality. Both are merely opinions of but one person, however, and should be taken as such. It's really encouraging to me, particularly in that I'm going into some rather expensive cash outlays for tooling and NREs. I could only guess at the numbers of modules I could sell to recoup costs, and your words are most encouraging. Second, I seem to frequently misplace my brain and this is one of those minor cases. I had forgotten about chickens and eggs. How would I send out a beta module to most of those willing to help, if it didn't yet have a panel - panels are the most expensive parts of modules and I wouldn't consider getting them made until I had beta feedback. For a few rare folks like STG, sending out a board with wires and jacks hanging off is not an issue, but for most it would be a nightmare. So I'm kinda caught. I'm trying to figure out the best approach to solving this quickly, so please bear with me. Third, in selecting my testers, I'll plead the Fifth regarding whom and how I'll select. PLEASE don't feel slighted if you're not one of the testers. Its not reflection on your capabilities, musical resume or anything else. Fourth, I'm continually updating my website and module offerings in little bits, so please check back frequently. I'll post here if anythin major changes. Its time consuming and takes me away from working on the next "latest & greatest", but I think the balance for me is a good one. Thanks again Everyone!!!
